NDC Ho West Constituency inaugurates campaign team

The NDC party on Sunday, 30th August, 2020 inaugurated its campaign team in the Ho West Constituency, Volta Region to lead their agenda to garner majority of popular votes in the December general elections.

The 22 member team which is chaired by the Constituency Chairman has the objective to retain the MP of the area, Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah and to return H.E. John Dramani Mahama to office with nothing less than a whooping 95% of votes.

Speaking at the event, the Member of Parliament for the Constituency appealed to members of the campaign team to work in unity to achieve their set target.

He urged the team to campaign devoid of insults and violence but to concentrate on developmental projects within the area to appreciate the efforts of the former President.

He also advised the party to offer help in the door to door campaign to win more souls for the NDC party.

In attendance were reps from the NDC Regional Executives Committee led by Mr. Simon Amegashie Viglo; a former Volta Regional Secretary who inaugurated the team and tasked members to discharge their mandate diligently and in unison spearheading the Constituency campaign in favour of the MP, Mr. Bedzrah and H.E. John Dramani Mahama to secure an undoubted win for both men on December 7th this year.

“I am very happy to see some key people in this team including those who contested the seat against the incumbent MP but lost. Ho West is a pacesetter and what I’ve seen here today is a clear evidence of unity in this Constituency.”

He added “…. as you swear this oath of office this day, you are pledging to work towards the victory of Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah and H.E. John Dramani Mahama and in no other person interest.”

He met with traditional rulers, opinion leaders, the people of Ho West and activists of the NDC to reiterate his commitment to developing the Ho West District, Volta region and Ghana as a whole. He used the opportunity to officially introduce the NDC Lawmaker who doubles as the Parliamentary Candidate for the constituency; Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah to the people of Ho West.

In a Facebook post made by the Member of Parliament for the area, he appreciated the visit by the former president and he’s optimistic that Mr. Mahama will come out victorious in the General elections slated for December 7th 2020.

“It was such an honour to we the people of Ho West Constituency and the NDC fraternity to host our next President; H.E. John Dramani Mahama and his entourage as they toured our beloved constituency yesterday and today, and to officially introduce me as the Parliamentary Candidate for the constituency on the ticket of NDC.”

“The massive crowd that greeted us at almost all the communities we drove through is enough evidence that the people of Ho West and for that matter, Volta Region are fed up with the autocratic leadership of the current government.”

“We are on a rescue mission and we shall peacefully but diligently guard the ballot boxes until the last ballot paper is counted and recorded appropriately on December 7th, 2020.”

Volta MPs Caucus Congratulates HE John Dramani Mahama on His NDC Presidential Primary Victory

The victory of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama in our party’s Presidential Primary held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 did not come to us as a surprise. Indeed, majority of us – NDC Members of Parliament declared our support for his bid to lead us into the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections. True to this, an overwhelming majority of delegates – 95.24% endorsed his candidature, confirming the position held by their Members of Parliament.

As a caucus, we congratulate HE John Dramani Mahama on his victory and wish to assure him of our full support as we work to ensure we win the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections. This is an NDC victory, and we owe it a duty to ourselves and Ghanaians to work to liberate our dear nation from the insecurity and hardship being unleashed on us by the insensitive government of the New Patriotic Party led by President Akufo-Addo.

To the 6 other aspirants, you are the best thing that ever happened to our party. Your decision to contest offered us the opportunity to prove the level of maturity and political tolerance within the NDC party. We congratulate you for graciously accepting the outcome of the election and conceding to HE John Dramani Mahama.

Whilst we are sure of victory during the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections, it will not come cheap, and we must be prepared to sacrifice our all and work beyond the normal to make the victory a reality.

“Ghanaians have chosen bitter leaf over honey” Hon. Bedzrah

Addressing his constituents during the former President John Mahama (JM)’s visit to the Ho West constituency at Dzolokpuita, the Member of Parliament cum Volta MPs Caucus chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah made a vivid comparison between the current government and the erstwhile Mahama administration by describing the former as a ‘bitter leaf’ and the latter as ‘honey’. “Ghanaians chose bitter leaf over honey “, he asserted.

The law maker’s comparison is based on the performance of both governments in terms of economic management, infrastructure development and education.

Talking about the economy, Hon. Bedzrah said the Nana Addo led government mismanaged the economy to the extend that Ghanaians couldn’t even celebrate the Christmas as expected and there is suffering and poverty all over the country.

Touching on infrastructure development, Hon. Bedzrah recounted some of the projects abandoned by the NPP administration in Ho West and expressed his disappointment in the choice (bitter leaf) Ghanaians made in the 2016 elections. He however, praised the former president Mahama’s achievement in infrastructure development and urged Ghanaians to make the best choice by choosing John Mahama and the NDC in the 2020 elections, for he is overconfident that JM will bear the party’s flag.

Hon. Bedzrah lambasted the Nana Addo led government for messing up the education system especially at the Senior High School level and putting our dear students and parents in undue pressure and suffering.

The Ho West MP urged Ghanaians to choose honey (JM) over bitter leaf (Nana Addo) in the upcoming 2020 elections.
